Vintage 1940's French Chore Coat with Oil Paint by Artist, Christen Yates

$250

A 1940s French chore coat in cotton twill painted in and on by artist Christen Yates across the deep blue fabric.

Cut with the classic loose fit of bleu de travail workwear, designed originally for carrying tools and brushes in its multiple pockets.

Finished with sturdy construction and functional details that speak to its working heritage, now elevated by layers of non-toxic oil paint in soft washes of color.

A piece that moves between studio and street, equally at home over simple separates or worn as a light layer.

Measurements (laying flat):

  • 24" inches armpit to armpit

  • 29" inches shoulder to hem

One of a kind — only one available.
